The Los Angeles Rams are the face of NFC West’s first place

It has been a decade since the Rams have started off a regular season with a record of 3-1. It has been 17 years since the Rams have 3-1 and also been first place in the NFC West. This past Sunday in Glendale Arizona, the Los Angeles Rams broke that streak years of irrelevance and disappointed seasons.

The Rams however are no strangers to upsetting the highly favored Arizona Cardinals in their own home. Just last year, second year running back Todd Gurley made the beginning of his rookie of the year campaign by rushing for over 100 yards last September and becoming a huge asset to the Rams victory in 2015.

Now, once again in the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale Arizona,  Todd Gurley would seize the opportunity to repeat another over 100 yard game and possibly start a campaign for MVP of the year.

However, this time around, the Rams would not rely on just one man, this game would be mainly relied on 11 men, the Los Angeles Rams defense! This defense was led by converted safety and now slide linebacker Mark with 7 tackles and 1 interception.

The Rams would hold the Arizona Cardinals to only 13 points in their victory recording 3 interceptions and 3 sacks, one sack would send Cardinals veteran Quarterback Carson Palmer to the locker room for a concussion protocol.

The Rams offensive passing game also found progressing chemistry led by Quarterback Case Keenum throwing for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns. Yes, unfortunately Todd Gurley not only failed to make it a 100 yard rushing game but the second year running back failed to reach 50 yards rushing this time around in Arizona.

But as we all know, football is a team sport and there is no “I” in Los Angeles Rams. Now the Rams return back to the beautiful Southern California Memorial Coliseum on Sunday where they have a match up against a very talented Buffalo Bills football team. They will host the Bills not only as a 2 point favorite but also as the NFC West face that runs first place!
