It was a very disappointing loss to the Bruins last night as they had the game. Bad composer and the penalty kill was the killer as this is now twice we have seen bad penalties kill the Bruins. Julien said it perfect when he said it’s “just not good enough.”
The defensive zone was very disappointing tonight as there were many breakdowns that lead to goals for the sharks. Julien showed a little frustration after the game saying “We all know that we need to be better. I think we have to take the responsibility of having to be better. There’s no excuse for tonight. We didn’t play well enough, can’t come out in the third and decide to play a little bit better.”
The defense needs a lot of work and it’s very noticeable. They just need to play all around better there are no excuses. Odd man rushed can’t happen. You can’t let the offence just skate right around you. Once again Julien summed it up perfectly by saying “Sloppy tonight, sloppy. Really that’s the only word I can find right now.”
I want the old Bruins defense back. The ones who people were afraid to go against because we would just hit them, take the puck and go down the ice. The physical play by the Bruins is hit or miss, some game we will be all over them well others it looks like we just don’t know how to hit. The minute they start playing physical again is the minute you will start winning again. You can’t even blame Tuukka tonight the deference left him out to dry, I though he did the best he could do. We need to go back to playing big bad Bruins hockey.
It frustrates me because there is so much potential in this team. A strong rookie base and veterans who know how to play the game. We just have not clicked yet, it will happen at some point I hope. This power play is way too good for this team. I have never seen a better Bruins power play, they are just about unstoppable. They are dominating the league when it comes to the power play with a 35.2 power play percentage. The closest team to the Bruins is the Stars and they have a 29.3 power play percentage. This Bruins power play is almost too good for the team.
Hopefully we can bounce back quickly after this hard 5-4 loss. The Bruins play next tomorrow night when they take on the Wild at the TD Garden.
