The Tom Brady appeal is finally over. It was a very long 10 hour day at 345 Park Avenue in New York City, as Tom Brady and lawyer Jeffrey Kessler and many more gave their side of the Deflategate controversy.
One report from Adam Schefter of ESPN states that Tom Brady was “testifying under Oath” at his appeal. That statement has been neither confirmed nor denied by the NFL. That means if this case ends up in a trial everything that is said in the appeal can be used.
Tom Brady did not speak after the appeal but Kessler did saying we made “Very compelling case”. Now we play the waiting game, and wait to see what Goodell does to the suspension. As for how long will we have to wait who knows. So the saga of Deflategate will continue and has no end in sight. According to USA Today Brady’s next step could be to file a federal lawsuit with a request for a temporary restraining order that would allow him to be on the field while the legal process plays out.
It will be a very interesting next couple of weeks as we wait to see if Goodell will deduct games from Brady’s four game suspension. Personally I think if they deduct 3 or more games it would be because of an inside deal between Kraft and Goodell. I also see Brady making this a federal case unless Goodell wipes the suspension clean and takes back the accusation of Tom Brady a cheater. But at this point all we can do is speculate on what we think will happen.
