I’m heated man! Isaiah Thomas is 5-foot-9-inches tall and has been ballin’ out all season long. He sparks the fire that ignites this Boston Celtics team. Thomas has the Garden roaring during every home game. I’ve never seen anything like it, an average sized guy who lights up a court filled with athletes who are a whole solid foot taller than him. Thomas is fourth in the league in points per game, averaging 28.7 points per game. He trails behind Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Anthony Davis (who are all having exceptional seasons). Thomas lacks ideal size but has true point guard play. He averages 6.0 assists per contest also. Thomas is averaging more points than Kyrie Irving and DeMar DeRozan, the two players selected to start the all-star game for the Eastern Conference. Thomas is also averaging more assists per game than Irving and DeRozan. Isaiah is averaging FIVE more points than the next point guard, Kyrie Irving. I don’t see too many 5’9″ guys going out and competing with 7-footers every night like Thomas does.
Thomas has been incredible for the Celtics this season. He is by far their most valuable weapon on offense, especially when it comes to the fourth quarter. Thomas takes control of the game in the fourth quarter and boy is it entertaining to watch. Kyrie doesn’t lead his team, it’s LeBron’s team and LeBron leads the Cavaliers. DeMar co-leads the Raptors, alongside Kyle Lowry (Oh by the way, another all-star caliber player). So no, DeMar doesn’t solely lead his team. Certainly not the same way that Thomas leads the Celtics.
I apologize for the rant but I am just very upset that Thomas isn’t starting the All-Star game. All Isaiah does is prove people wrong. Scouts doubted his ability to play at this level, hence why he was the VERY LAST pick (#60 overall) in the 2011 NBA draft. Brad Stevens gave Thomas a chance to show his potential. Stevens let Isaiah show the league what he’s got and it is truly unbelievable to see him out there at 5’9″ averaging the fourth most points in the league. Keep doing you Isaiah, the real goal is the quest for banner #18. Keep grinding out there! The Lil Ticket is the real deal!
