Early on the morning of Memorial day this week, Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence in Jupiter, FL. Woods was found in his car which was stopped on the side of the road and had damage to both tires on the drivers side. Tiger was unaware of were exactly he was, or where we was going. Although he blew a 0.0 on a BAC test, the video of the arrest (shown below) was released by the Jupiter Police Department clearly shows the golfer was impaired.
Woods has said publicly that his impaired state came as a result of medication he has been taking, and not because of alcohol or illegal drugs.
It’s sad to see this event added to the timeline of Tiger’s struggles in recent years. Especially since he announced in April, following his fourth surgery, that his back felt the best it has in years.
Woods will appear in Palm Beach County Court on July 5th. What happens then will determine the next steps for Tiger. Hopefully golf fans will be able to see a mentally and physically healthy Tiger Woods take the course again soon.
