Tom Brady Returns Home To Beat Bengals 35-17

Flop Tweet

It was one of the most hyped games of the year, Tom Brady’s return to Gillette Stadium after serving his four-game deflate gate suspension. The crowd was pumped to see him back on the Foxboro turf as the stadium was filled almost 45 minutes prior to the game to ensure Brady get a big cheer when he runs out of the tunnel.

I have seen divisional Playoff, AFC championships, and banner raising ceremonies all at Gillette but that had to be one of the loudest moments I have heard when Brady led the Patriots of our the tunnel to Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train. Everyone was on their feet clapping and yelling welcoming back our quarterback Tom Brady.

Tom Brady did not disappoint the crowd on his homecoming day going 29-of-35 for 376 yards with 3 touchdowns. “it was a great crowd. We always get great crowds, and they were into it today. I was glad we could do a lot better there in the second half and finish the game strong.”

Brady also managed to make a little history as he is now over the 5,000-completion mark on his career.

James White had what was his best games of the season so far today as he was a big threat in the red zone catching 2 touchdowns. Gronkowski also found the end zone for the first time this season on a 4 yard completion from Brady. Gronkowski finished the day with a career-high 162 receiving yards.

It was a sluggish first half for the Patriots and they were lucky to be going into halftime with the lead but they picked it up in the second half and improved to 169-14 when scoring 23 or more points in a game under Bill Belichick.

But as I said before I am slowly losing confidence in Stephen Gostkowski as he missed an extra point in today’s game. Fortunately, that point did not matter but still extra points should be almost automatic. But I will say he must have had a great confidence boost as he did hit a 46 yarder in the first quarter. I am not saying to be worried yet but still it is definitely something to keep an eye on.

The Patriots will not return to Gillette Stadium until November 13th when the there will have a rematch of Super Bowl 49 on Sunday Night Football. Until then the Patriots will be on the road in Pittsburg next week followed by Buffalo a bye week and a trip to San Francisco to play the 49ers.

A hard stretch of games are coming but Brady looks fresh and ready for the challenge.

Also, I have to mention the Patriots did an excellent breast cancer awareness card stunt and pre-game ceremony featuring over 150 breast cancer survivors.
