UFC Mega Fight Coming to Cowboys Stadium

UFC Mega Fight Coming to Cowboys StadiumLast night, UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva demolished his opponent, Vitor Belfort in the 1st round in brutal fashion. One swift kick to Belfort’s chin is all it took for the champ to retain his belt. Silva has cleaned out the middleweight division, and now the stage is almost set for the fight of all fights, a mega fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre

To make this mega fight come true, GSP will have to successfully defend his welterweight belt against the crafty Jake Shields at UFC 129, April  30th (Montreal, Quebec) UFC President, Dana White recently stated that if Silva got past Belfort and if GSP gets past Shields then the mega fight would happen. Dana White says this fight makes sense to be held at Cowboys Stadium. Wow.

Dana White elaborated further:

“If there was ever a fight we’re going to do at Dallas Texas Stadium, this would be the fight,” White told MMAWeekly.com about Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre.

“It makes sense that we’ll do a stadium show. It totally makes sense,” White said. (mmaweekly.com)

Dana White has already scouted Cowboys Stadium and believes its the right place to hold this fight:

“I went down there for the (Manny) Pacquiao fight when Pacquiao fought there. You guys have heard me for years talk about stadiums, when I saw that stadium I said ‘we can definitely do this’. It’s a great atmosphere down there for a fight,” (mmaweekly.com)

Expect this fight to happen before the end of 2011, there shouldn’t be any scheduling conflicts since UFC hold their Pay Per-View events on Saturdays. Another mega fight at Cowboys Stadium would be another feather in Jerry’s hat. Let’s go GSP!
