Here are some undrafted Patriots players from this previous draft that are out to earn a job on the 53 man roster.
Cre’von LeBlanc CB FAU (Florida Atlantic)- A hard hitting corner that is listed at 5’9, LeBlanc has a smaller stature but has the toughness to win over coaches. Brutal hits as shown in his highlight film and could land him a job with the Patriots.
D.J. Foster RB Arizona State- Acceleration was the first thing that jumped out from looking at Foster’s film. Can turn the jets from the second he gets the ball and has the versatlity factor of catching and running that coaches in the NFL now look for. Belichick has a tough decision here with Foster.
Jonathan Jones CB Auburn- Jones, who stands 5’9 as listed, does not play like he is 5’9. Always around the ball and has an impressive vertical (36 inches). 19 reps on the bench in the combine (top performer) and ran a blazing 4.33 40 but ran an unofficial 4.28 before the 3rd try. Speed, ball placing, and elusiveness is key in the NFL and Jones has it.
Bryce Williams TE East Carolina- A 6’5 tight end who weighs in at 260 pounds, Williams has the size and has great hands which led to him catching 58 passes his senior year. Not the fastest guy out there but enough to truck you over with his size. An interesting decision here but the odds are stacked against him with Gronk, Bennett, Harbor and Derby but I’m pulling for him to excel in training camp to earn his spot.
