WASHINGTON – It appears that the growing furor of the Washington Redskins name has reached all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
According to the Associated Press, President Barack Obama stated that if he owned the team, that he would be open to changing the name.
Current Redskins owner, Daniel Snyder has vowed to never change the team’s name, which has for years been found as highly offensive to the Native American community and used as a reason for many sports teams across sports to change their names over the last few years.
