The Houston Texans awarded quarterback Brock Osweiler with a $72 million contract in the offseason, and in retrospect, they probably shouldn’t have.
Broncos general manager John Elway, a former quarterback himself, knew what he had, and refused to budge in free agency. That’s looking to be the right move, given the subpar play we’ve seen from him this season.
Osweiler completed 22 of 41 passes for a paltry 131 yards in the team’s 27-9 loss in Denver on Monday night, setting a league-low for yards per attempt (3.2).
And this fumble, well, it was awful. It looked like the ball was already slipping out of his hand, yet he decided to throw it anyway.
