A scary moment took place during Wednesday’s North Central-Augustana game, when a player crashed face-first into the backboard of a basketball hoop.
It happened when North Central’s Blaise Meredith was attempting to come up with a chase-down block on Chrishawn Orange. It appeared that Orange had an easy layup, but Meredith came flying out of nowhere in an attempt to block the shot. Unfortunately, he was so focused on Orange, and he jumped so high, that he actually smacked his face on the backboard while trying to swat the ball away.
I've shot basketball for almost 22 years and have never seen this happen. North Central's Meredith Blaise hits his head on the backboard chasing down a block. He would be ok and come back into the game @d3hoops pic.twitter.com/cfEURZnkjM

North Centrals Blaise Meredith tries to chase down a block and gets punished by the backboard. Don't worry he was ok and went back into the game moments later.

Thankfully, Meredith appeared to be OK, as he made his way off the court, but re-entered the game soon after.
