The Dolphins’ playoff hopes were in dire straits late in Sunday’s game against the Patriots, given that the team was trailing by six points, needing to go 69 yards, with only 16 seconds remaining.
Miami had time for only one play, and it involved a number of laterals. Running back Kenyan Drake received the final one of them from teammate DeVante Parker near midfield, and he showed how elusive he is, using a number of cuts to get free down the sideline. Only tight end Rob Gronkowski — who was in on the play on defense — had a chance to tackle him, but the 265-pounder could not do so.
The thrilling one-point victory kept the Dolphins right in the playoff hunt, and running back Frank Gore was pumped about it, as you can hear in this postgame interview.
“Great team win!” Gore yelled, as he shared some thoughts on the big win.

Great win, indeed. As for the Patriots, that loss could prove costly.
