Rockets superstar James Harden seems to get the benefit of calls from NBA officials more than any other player, for some reason.
Maybe it’s because he moves so quickly, and he also knows how to initiate contact to draw fouls, but whatever the reason, it seems like we’re talking about defenders getting hit with questionable foul calls nearly every time he steps foot on the court.
Speaking of steps, Harden took like a zillion of them on this stepback three-pointer during Monday’s game against the Jazz. It’s clear that he took four steps, and the NBA even admitted they got the call wrong.
The offensive player gathers the ball while on his right foot. He then takes a step with his left foot (step 1) into a hop step, landing first with his right foot (step 2) and then illegally with his left (step 3). We missed this one – it is a traveling violation. https://t.co/BqMAoZHgIu
