Even standing on the sideline can be a dangerous job, as one Redskins cheerleader learned during Monday night’s game.
It happened when Kirk Cousins took off running toward the sideline in the fourth quarter of the Panthers-Redskins matchup. Cousins was (unnecessarily) shoved hard as he made his way out of bounds by Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short, which resulted in a penalty for unnecessary roughness.
Cousins wasn’t the most unfortunate person on the field after receiving the hard shove, though. Instead, it was a cheerleader who was standing on the sideline tarp. The contact caused Cousins to slide into her legs, and she hit the ground pretty hard.

The good news is the cheerleader looked to be OK afterward.
