Newly promoted Defensive Coordinator, Rod Marinelli met with reporters after the rookie minicamp practice and was asked where he sees Tyrone Crawford playing this year. Marinelli said he sees him as an under tackle guy (DT), and he’ll start him off from the middle and work outside at left end “some”.
Leading up to the draft, I had said how Crawford’s NFL Combine numbers were the best when comparing to this year’s class, only bested by Aaron Donald. Jason Hatcher has also come out saying Crawford would be his replacement. I like the potential Crawford can give us as the pass rushing 3-technique. Marinelli wants that constant pressure, so if we have Melton and Crawford at the 3-tech, NFC East QBs could be in for some long gamedays.
We’ll see how this shakes out once training camp actually gets here.
