The NFL Network will kick off it’s annual Top 100 as voted by players in the NFL. The fun starts tonight at 9pm (EST), be sure to tune in and see which Cowboys get voted into the Top 100.

Last year the Cowboys had five players in the list:

  • Dez Bryant #25

  • Tony Romo #71

  • Tyron Smith #78

  • DeMarco Murray #87

  • Jason Witten #98

I fully expect all of the players to be in the Top 100, but I also expect them to be rated higher than 2014. The one player that may be a close call is Jason Witten. Witten barely cracked the Top 100 last year, and some players may think Witten had an average year this past season.

In fact, Witten had he lowest production in receptions and yards since his rookie year in 2003. Witten finished 2014 with 64 catches for 703 yards, and 5 Tds.

What new names could we see in the Top 100?

Zack Martin is probably has a good chance especially after his rookie season, his play was surely noticed by his peers as being top level. 1st team All-Pro and a Pro Bowl appearance was icing on the cake, or perhaps inclusion in the Top 100 would be the icing on the cake for a stellar rookie campaign.

Travis Frederick has been playing solid ball since his rookie year, and he could sneak into the Top 100 for the first time this year. He’s the anchor and focal point of this mauling offensive line.

Orlando Scandrick would have made the Pro Bowl, but he was disqualified from the voting process because of his failed drug test in which he started the season on suspension. That being said, Scandrick was one of the leaders on defense and made plays against some of the leagues best receivers.

Ron Leary and Dan Bailey are my darkhorse players that could be in the mix as well. Leary shutdown JJ Watt, and there’s something to be said about that, when a player of that caliber lines up in front of you and you shut him down, there’s some serious talent there. Bailey is one of the league’s most accurate and consistent kickers in the game today; albeit, he did have some unusual misses down the stretch.

Which Cowboys do you think will get voted into this year’s Top 100?
