After each game, we'll be taking stock in each players… and maybe coach's… performance. If we like what we see, we're buyin'. If we don't, we're sellin'. Or maybe we'll just hold onto our stock until we see more next game
Paul Pierce: The Captain went off in the third quarter to bail out a team that had looked like utter crap until that point. Any of the Pierce critics heading into this season should put on a bib and prepare for a healthy serving of crow with humble pie for dessert.
Brandon Bass: I admit, I'm completely hung up on the Bass/Baby dichotomy. I'm not entirely sure when I'll get over it. But watching this guy finish with dunks, take the ball aggressively to the rim, and make open shots makes me point and laugh at Otis Smith.
Sorry, Baby. If you had been better about your departure, I'd be better at handling this.
The effort against bad teams: Never… never… never will I expect the Celtics to storm out of the gates and put forth a quality effort against a bad team. They have played down to their competition for years now. I feel like a total moron for expecting anything different. And because Rajon Rondo is one of the worst offenders, I'm not sure if I should expect anything different for a long time. I guess this is a "good with the bad" situation.
Avery Bradley: Did we witness some kind of "turning of a corner?" Was this some kind of "breakout game?" People have been trying to throw labels on Avery's performance (more specifically, second half performance). I prefer to simply quote Homer Simpson and say "he came to life. Good for him." Until Avery strings a few of these together, I'm going to sit back and wait for more.
Marquis Daniels:My patience is running lower with each game. I love Quis. I'm rooting for him. But because of what we saw in the flash of a pre-season, I expect something from him. And I'm not getting what I expect. It's early, but if this doesn't turn around soon, we're going to have to have some serious conversations about Marquis.
Chris Wilcox: New team, new system, new role, no time to learn any of it and missed games due to injury. I'm not selling him yet, but I'm keeping my eye on this guy. He's an important piece to this puzzle. And for the mid-level exception ("mini" or not), I have certain expectations.
