Twins Target 9/2/2017

Last Night: Kansas City 7, Minnesota 6 – The Royals had set out to blow this game too. Eddie Rosario struck out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, but it was a miracle that they even had that shot. It was a loss, but there was a lot of fight in the team last night.

Twinkie Town: Joe Nathan signs a one-day contract to retire as a Twin – Cool move by the Royals providing an angst addled save out of respect for Nathan on his special night.

Roster Rundown: Oh boy, here we go. First, they transferred Hector Santiago to the 60 day DL, so perhaps his rehab work will be for naught the rest of the way. They also started Dietrich Enns’ rehab stint in Rochester. He may be back on the roster before the season ends.
Coming the other way, the Twins recalled Buddy Boshers and Nik Turley, two moves which were absolutely not surprises. One move that is a surprise was the addition of Niko Goodrum to the roster. He takes the spot of Santiago on the 40 man roster, and should have enough versatility in the field to help considerably, but is listed as an outfielder, where the team is missing Robbie Grossman, and have a limited Byron Buxton to work with.
