UPDATE 2: Bob Sanders has Surgery, NOT Placed on IR

Amid rumors that Bob Sanders had suffered a season-ending injury, the Indystar is reporting that Bob Sanders practiced with the team during a short Monday session.  There had been speculation, mostly coming from ProFootballTalk.com, that Sanders had a torn biceps and would miss the remainder of the season, but that speculation appears to be unfounded.  Sanders was injured during the first quarter of the Colts’ 24-34 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, and never returned to the sidelines.  The defense suffered a severe drop in play, especially against the run, once Sanders left the game, so his availability for Sunday, and beyond, would provide a big boost for the team.  We’ll update you as more information becomes available.

UPDATE 1:

Maybe Mike Florio is a genius, after all.  Adam Schefter is reporting that Bob Sanders has a torn biceps and is out indefinitely.  He did say indefinitely or the season, but was not definitive about the Colts placing Sanders on the injured-reserve list on this time.  Once again we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

UPDATE 2:

Bob Sanders saw Doctor to the stars James Andrews on Wednesday for a second opinion.  Apparently that opinion was, “Let me cut your arm up,” as Sanders underwent surgery on his torn biceps.  The Colts released a statement stating that Sanders would be out indefinitely, but would remain on their active 53-man roster.
