Matt Stover’s longest made field goal in 2007 was 49 yards. Matt Stover is now 42 years old, so there’s reason to suspect he wouldn’t be able to make a 55-yard field goal as he did as a rookie in 1991. So, Jim Caldwell, why’d you send him out to try a 51-yard field goal?
