Mark your calendars: Bruins home opener against Rangers, 1/19

Good news, everyone! The NHL has told the Boston Bruins their season opener will also be their home opener. They'll face the NY Rangers on Saturday, January 19th, a likely 7pm start.

And according to Fluto, the Bruins could play a few games at the Garden to start the season:

It’s possible the Bruins could begin the season with a multigame homestand. The Celtics will not play at home until Jan. 24. The Bruins were originally scheduled to play Toronto Jan. 21. That matchup could stay the same in the revised 48-game schedule.

And expect hockey season to run a lot deeper than usual (that's what she said). From the Globe & Mail:

The regular season is set to end at the beginning of May, and the last playoff game could be played on June 25th under the scheduling being considered by the league.

The rest of the 2013 schedule is expected to be released this weekend.

As a reminder, we're helping to throw a Hockey Resurrection party to celebrate the end of hockery and beginning of hockey. It's at the Harp on January 17th from 7-10pm. And it's FREE, suckas. Hope to see you all there. Register at Eventbrite.
