Player’s Wife Disputes Umpire’s Strike Three Call

Baltimore 333

Down a run, with two outs and a guy on third…Oakland A’s second baseman Nick Punto struck out looking to end the game Friday night against the Seattle Mariners.

As you might imagine…dude was pretty upset. So upset that he and his manager Bob Melvin were both ejected. Thing is, their claim the pitch was high and out of the strike zone is probably spot on.

Watch.

Suffice it to say, Punto’s wife Natalie supported her husband’s claims the pitch was high the only way, I’m guessing, she could.

And for the record, I’m going to need to see Mrs. Punto’s strike zone and see for myself.
