I hope there’s room for one more on the Chicago Cubs bandwagon…because it looks like Pope Francis needs a seat.
All joking aside, Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich visited the papal leader at the Vatican and, as you do, presented him with a Cubs cap and autographed baseball.
This isn’t the first time Cupich injected divinity into his fandom. Prior to the World Series, the archbishop even challenged a Cleveland bishop to a bet with Cupich offering up deep-dish pizza if the Cubs lose. But the Lovable Losers didn’t win, so in return…the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago will be treated to a “Cleveland-Style Feast” consisting of pierogi, kielbasa, sauerkraut and green beans.
It’s worth mentioning that both men actually make good on their promises.
But let’s get back to this Pope thing for a minute. If you think about it, it does make perfect sense that the pontiff would be a Cubs fan…what with all the Hell freezing over following their recent championship
