Todd Jones Doesn’t Want Your Vote

Ottawa_Senators,_1914-1915

A quick glance at the 2014 Hall of Fame ballot shows a lot of qualified first timers.  Among them…Greg Maddux, Frank Thomas, Tom Glavine, Jeff Kent and Mike Mussina.

Those guys join an already crowded pack that includes Craig Biggio (who received 68.2% of the vote last season), Jack Morris (67.7%), Jeff Bagwell (59.6%), Mike Piazza (57.8%) and Tim Raines (52.2%).  And I'm not even going to bring up Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds.

Wile it's going to be tough for the BBWAA to keep their ballot to less than ten players, there's one guy who doesn't want to muddy the waters.

Former closer Todd Jones.

Jones played for eight teams during his 16-year career, and even though he ranks 16th all-time with 319…the guy clearly realizes his place in history.

Now, I wouldn't normally do this, but if "Roller Coaster" is down (and someone can get me in touch with him)…he's got a plaque waiting for him here at the HOVG home office.
