I would be happy if Webb was made 2nd string and both Geno Smith AND Josh Johnson were cut. All 3 are equally inadequate for backing up a shot at a Super Bowl. They have different flaws, and frankly I am not so sure it is worth giving Smith (or Johnson) a roster spot for backing up. Webb can do it, even if he is behind on development. Am I leaning on Eli to play another 16 consecutive games? Yes. So be it. I’ll take the extra roster spot and develop another player, along with Webb.
