Well…who saw this coming about halfway through the second period? Help from a lot of unlikely sources in this one, which was surprising, but not problematic. Bergeron getting a goal was of course no surprise, but the scoring also came from Ference, Kelly and *gasp!* Ryder, who got both the first goal and the game winner in OT. Now, we understand that some less than favorable things have been said about Ryder ’round these parts, and we’re man enough to give credit where credit is due, even if it does pain us greatly.
Recap is going to be shorter than usual tonight, most of our energy went into hosting tonight’s Live Chat. For those of you not keeping score at home, the Bruins are 2-0 during games that we host chats. We’re not saying necessarily that we’re the reason they win, but we are superstitious as hell, so look for these to continue for at least as long as the Bruins keep winning.

No doubt that on Friday. the social networking world with be ablaze with theories, accusations, and reactions to the infamous finger flip that Ference gave after his goal (I can just see the “FingerGate” headlines now). For those of you whose Foursquare location is currently “under a rock”:

Suuuure Ference *wink wink, nudge nudge*. Whatever, he actually doesn’t have a reputation of being that type of player, so I guess anything is possible. Whether it was intentional or not, we found it funny and so did a lot of people. Thanks to Ference and some creative thinking, we got a new, hilarious suggestion:
It’s always great when people give us suggestions, all the less work we need to do! Plus the word “finger” sets us up for some of those hilarious innuendos that we love so much.

The game wasn’t all lollipops and rainbows though, the first line of the Bruins has been about as useful as tits on a bull (that has to be one of the weirdest expressions, almost begs to be photoshoped). It’s easy to pick on Lucic where he’s been one of our most impactful players this season, but Horton has been just as ineffectual. Krejci has been a cocktease, getting chances and blowing them. We understand that some lines may go cold, and thank god the other lines are now picking up the slack, but enough is enough, we’re four games into the playoffs.
And we’re stating to sound like a broken record with this, but can we just decline any future power plays…please?
Hard to say much about Thomas, sure the Habs scored four goals, but the defense left a lot to be desired. Besides, Thomas saved Boston’s bacon during some of those offensive explosions the Canadiens.
And just like that we have a series, now if the Bruins could learn to actually win at home, that’d be just ducky. Next game is Saturday back in Boston, keep an eye out for more info about the next live chat. In the meantime, you may want to take the pins out of those Ryder and Kelly voodoo dolls, we may need those guys.
