Jeff Fisher still believes Danny Woodhead plays for Patriots

San Francisco 49ers v St Louis Rams

It’s fair to question if Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher breaks down tape of his opponents, judging by what he said on Wednesday.

With the Rams set to square off against the Patriots, Fisher talked about some of the playmakers the Patriots have on their roster during a conference call with reporters. This is normal protocol, but praising a player that hasn’t been a member of the team since 2012 is not.

It’s probably a waste of time having the Rams prepare for running back Danny Woodhead this week, given that he now plays for the Chargers, not the Patriots.

This isn’t a huge deal, but it’s funny to laugh at. However, it is another potential nail in Fisher’s coaching coffin. The Rams currently have a 4-7 record, and probably waited too long to start rookie Jared Goff at quarterback. And now Fisher isn’t even sure which players his team is matching up against.

Maybe this type of mistake is the main reason why the Rams have had an underwhelming season. Was Fisher wasting his time breaking down Jimmy Graham tape before the team’s game against the Saints last week?
