Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan for Rams rumors pop up

Michigan v Ohio State

Let another round of Jim Harbaugh rumors begin.

Harbaugh has a great thing going at Michigan. He’s in control and has the program competing at the highest level. Give it another year or so, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see the Wolverines in the College Football Playoff.

A littler farther down the line, Harbaugh might coach the…Los Angeles Rams?

So suggests a new rumor captured by CBS Sports’ John Breech, who recorded notes from a segment with Albert Breer and Colin Cowherd:

With the college regular season officially over, coaching rumors are going to fly, and one of those rumors involves Harbaugh. During an interview with Colin Cowherd on Dec. 9, MMQB’s Albert Breer had an interesting comment about the Rams coaching situation as it pertains to the current Michigan coach.

“By the way, Albert Breer on the way out said that Jim Harbaugh to the Rams rumor is a very real thing,” Cowherd said at the end of Breer’s segment.

Breer later clarified:

This seems shaky at best—until one remembers we’re talking about Harbaugh. The guy likes to move around and seems to lose interest quickly. He continues to make the list as one of the best possible NFL coaching hires. Going to Los Angeles of all places with Stan Kroenke and leading one of the league’s premier teams in a massive market makes sense. Oh, and Harbaugh would get a chance to beat up on the San Francisco 49ers twice a year.

Again, this seems crazy right now. But this is Harbaugh. So keep this in mind when the guy up and leaves in a few years or so—he might have more than a few reasons to want to join the Rams if he decides to leap back to the NFL.
