The rotation question will not be put off while Tim Wakefield gets ready, he is ready now.
Wakefield was in Boston yesterday and said doctors gave him an “A-plus” for where he’s at physically. He’s on his normal throwing program, feeling no ill effects, and plans on hitting the ground running in three weeks when pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers.
Francona had planned to spot start Wake until he was 100% but those plans are out the window now. How this works out will be one of the most interesting things to watch for in spring training.
