Captain's Blog: My Washington Post Draft Analysis, McCoy's scheme with Tampa Bay similar to OK, Clayton likely gone?
The BucCorder scans for Bucs news!
From time to time, I will be doing some work for the Washington Post again as I was before. Here, I talk about the Tampa Bay Bucs draft. Rick Stroud points out that Gerald McCoy’s system in One Gap defense at Oklahoma is similar, but a little different than what the Bucs are asking him to do. Some updates from Pewter Reports chat session that I joined in on today…..

  • Earnest Graham’s rehab on his ankle injury is doing good, and he will be ready to practice this offseason.
  • Kellen Winsow and Jerramy Stevens are being asked to improve their blocking. As a result, we may see more of John Gilmore at TE next year on running downs.
  • Not just the Bucs, but MOST teams in the league are avoiding long term deals right now until the CBA is done.
    Earnest Graham
Graham's injury to his ankle will not prevent him from practicing this offseason.
  • The question of Michael Clayton was asked several times, and PR man Charlie Campbell is clear he does not feel Clayton will be a Buccaneer in 2010.

See you next time on the Captain’s Blog! Dont miss todays HD video from 2009, a nice Josh Freeman TD throw. But then again, arnt they all nice? Also, tomorrow, check out a great trick play by Craig Erickson and Horace Copeland in 1993! Dont forget to get your questions in! Top right corner for info on emailing me a question about the Bucs, and the best 3 or 4 will get mentioned. So far Matt Smith has the best this week…but that name is a little familiar….hmmm…
