Big Break Sandals Resorts (Season Premiere)

The 13th season of Golf Channel’s popular reality series kicks off Monday at 9 p.m. ET, featuring an all-female cast competing for the opportunity to earn her “Big Break” – tournament sponsor exemptions to the Lorena Ochoa Invitational presented by Bamanex and Corona Light and the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.  After the ladies arrive to the island of Great Exuma, Bahamas, on Monday’s premiere episode, they will be met with a surprise twist that immediately changes the face of the competition.  One contestant will be eliminated at the close of the show.

Golf in America premieres its second season on Tuesday with a line-up of new inspirational stories from celebrity personalities and everyday people who are all unified by the game of golf.  Host Anthony Anderson will take viewers across the country to uncover stories that capture the heart and spirit of the game.  Monday’s premiere episode will feature:

  • Ben Wright – Rich Lerner sits down with longtime golf commentator Ben Wright.  Wright was a staple on CBS’ golf broadcasts from the 1970’s – 1990’s, until an interview with a Delaware newspaper reporter in 1995 abruptly ended his broadcasting career and changed his life.
  • Amari Avery – Learn the story of six-year-old golf prodigy Amari Avery, who happens to have a striking number of similarities to Tiger Woods, including the same birthday, family background and growing up in Riverside, Calif.
  • Tyler Lagasse – Jim Axelrod will introduce viewers to Tyler Lagasse, a young man with Autism who, with great support from his family, has excelled at golf.
Top 10: Tom Watson’s British Open Moments (new)

From a comfortable stroll at Muirfield Village to a memorable “Duel in the Sun,” Tom Watson’s game defined a generation of links golf.  With insight and commentary from fellow PGA TOUR professionals and noted sports journalists, host Lauren Thompson will count down Watson’s top 10 British Open moments.

Host Michael Breed will recap the U.S. Open and re-create the key shots and moments that defined the tournament.  Big Break Sandals Resorts contestant and PGA of America professional Kelly Sheehan will join Breed in-studio to preview Big Break’s newest season and give tips and instruction to viewers.
