Wings Sweep Coyotes, Will Probably See Sharks-Kings Winner In Round 2

So much for “limping” into the playoffs. The Red Wings completed a sweep of the Phoenix Coyotes with a 6-3 win last night, including another moment where I questioned what planet Pavel Datsyuk is from.

The Coyotes, completely overmatched in the series, now sit in limbo as some rich guy tries to move them back to Winnipeg.

As for the Wings? They now have to wait and see how the other three series in the Western Conference play out. With Vancouver up 3-1 on the Chicago Blackhawks (and likely to close out the series tonight at home), the Wings will see the winner of the Sharks-Kings series, where San Jose currently leads 2-1.

Now it comes down to the million dollar question: who would we rather see? Personally, I’d like to see Los Angeles win the series (largely because of one Jack M.F.* Johnson), but I wouldn’t mind continuing the Winged Wheel Rampage of Revenge Tour (TM) with the Sharks in the next round either. Regardless, if the Wings play like they did in Round 1**, it doesn’t matter who they play: they’ll be moving on.

*M.F. = Masterfully Fearless, if you’re keeping score at home

**Excluding the penalty kill, that shit was god-awful after Game 1

What do you think, Wings fans? Should we root for San Jose or L.A.? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
