Kings’ Speech: Game 15 vs. Indiana Pacers

The Sacramento Kings face yet another Friday/Saturday back-to-back, beginning tonight with a match-up against the Indiana Pacers.  In the last meeting between these two teams, it took two overtimes for the Pacers to clinch victory over the Kings in their home opener at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

When it comes to film study and analysis, Keith Smart can be very detailed in his preparation.  Coming into tonight, what has the Kings coach seen the Pacers do differently since their last game on Nov. 3?

I think it’s more the ball is being featured a little bit more so in the hands of (David) West…And then George Hill is playing very well.  Made a big basket to win the game (in Los Angeles), but playing with a lot more confidence right now and probably in much better conditioning right now.  I can’t speak on that, but just looking at how he’s moving now, (he) could be in a little bit better conditioning right now.

Jason Thompson scored just four points, grabbed two rebounds, but blocked three shots in 24 minutes of action against the Pacers earlier this month.  Considering how tightly contested the last meeting was against Indiana, the veteran power forward likes his team’s chances if they pay close attention to detail.

They’re obviously an eastern conference playoff team, but we took them to two overtimes out there or something like that…and had plenty of chances to win the game.  So if we take care of business and look at the film at that game, then we should get a W here.

The Kings and Pacers tip-off action at 7 pm PT at Sleep Train Arena.  For continued pre and post game coverage of tonight’s game, visit Cowbell Kingdom throughout the day.
