NBA announces withdrawals of 18 early entry draft candidates

The NBA announced that 18 prospects have withdrawn their names as early entry candidates for this year’s draft.  The most notable of the withdrawals is  Croatian forward Dario Saric, who was projected go somewhere in the lottery or mid-first round.  According to ESPN.com’s Chad Ford, Saric had concerns about playing time, thus deciding to stay overseas.

French center Mouhammadou Jaiteh also pulled his name from consideration out of next week’s draft.  Jaiteh was considered a late first-round pick by most draft experts.

There a 60 early entry candidates who remain in this year’s draft, which will be held next Thursday, June 27 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
