Frank Gore backs out on Eagles, may sign with Colts

Frank Gore, the human plow who shed tacklers for ten seasons in San Francisco had agreed over the weekend in principle to a three-year deal to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, after recent events or a second thought tonight, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Gore is reconsidering his potential deal with the Eagles and as of now looks to be on the radar of the Indianapolis Colts.

Over his ten-year career, Gore has rushed for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns on the ground. Last season with the 49ers, he rushed for 1,106 yards and four touchdowns. The last time Gore did not rush for 1,000 yards was in 2010, where he had 853 yards on the ground.

The Eagles need a running back after trading away all-pro running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills. So now the search goes on for another piece to Chip Kelly’s puzzle. All hope is not lost though seeing as Frank Gore is 31-years-old and on the latter half of his career. There are also some formidable backs left in free agency as well as a deeply talented running back class in this year’s draft.
