Draymond Green And Stephen Curry Have Fun With Curry’s Fame And Endorsements

WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — There’s the UnderArmour commercial with Jamie Foxx, of course, but there’s also his new deal with Express, and there’s DegreeMen. Let’s not forget State Farm, Muscle Milk, and Zamst, just to name a few.

As far as endorsements go, Stephen Curry is “blowing up”. Must be a pretty surreal feeling for a guy with as much humility as Curry.

“Yeah, it’s pretty fun,” said Curry today at the Golden State Warriors practice facility after morning shootaround as the team prepares for the game tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“I think my family gets more of a kick out of it than I do. I get texts all the time, ‘Get your ugly mug off my TV’.”

But he’s not only appearing on flat screens big and small all across America, he’s also appearing in your snail mail.

“Like the Express deal I have, they send out flyers to all their customers,” Curry explained. “Everybody (in my family) has been getting catalogs and they got me in like seven different areas with different outfits on, posing, and I get pictures of that in my texts all the time.”

Teammate Draymond Green certainly gets a kick out of it.

“It’s dope,” Green told reporters today at the practice facility.

“You’re sitting there with him and the commercial pops up. It’s like, ‘Oh, what up, bro,'” Green said.

While the UnderArmour spot with Foxx definitely ranks high on Green’s list of favorite Curry commercials, he can’t deny a special affinity toward Curry’s Degree Men deodorant deal, whose slogan includes, “For a cleaner feel.”

Sometimes after a game in the Warriors locker room, the light-hearted Curry will make eye contact with Green across the way.

“Just watching Steph instantly drop, ‘For a cleaner feel!’ (with his arm raised, next to his locker),” Green chuckled. “It’s funny. If it were someone else, it might not be as funny, but just because it’s Steph, it’s hilarious.”

“It’s amazing. Definitely couldn’t be more happy for him. Couldn’t happen to a better person. He hasn’t changed a bit,” Green said. “He’s earned it and he deserves everything that’s coming to him.”
