FANTASY MLS FOR XI: HIT THE RESET BUTTON!

phoenix

This is definitely going to be a bizarre Round 15. All MLS Fantasy managers have been given unlimited transfers this week, so feel free to completely reorganize your roster — with no point penalties! MLS Fantasy wasn’t just feeling generous. They know that since there are only 10 MLS teams playing this week, it’s going to be more difficult to field a solid fantasy roster. Use this time to make sure you have enough Round 15 players for an entire team. Here are the teams you can choose from: CHI (bye R16), CLB (bye R16), DC, DAL, LA, MTL, NE, NYC, ORL, SEA. On top of that, make sure you check the international roster updates; many MLS players will be missing time this month to play for their country.

Now, on to the questions:

@Sk_Zizou: Is Zavaleta a sure starter?

For the near future, I say yes. Caldwell’s recovery is moving along, but fairly slowly, so until he’s match fit, it looks like Zavaleta is the guy lining up next to Perquis. Zavaleta is a pretty solid, cheap defender. Which means he’ll be unavailable in three weeks, based on my prior luck retaining cheap CBs in MLS Fantasy.

@J_Mills81 Castillo or Piatti?

Piatti. Much better set of fixtures, DGW in round 17, and a hell of a player.

@SeanRingrose …who do I pick up? 😛

Your best bets right now will come from MTL, SEA, LA, NE, and DC. All of those teams play in round 15 and 16, and have a DGW in round 17. I’m likely going to have at least seven players from MTL and SEA combined.

@Fpl_Deadeye best striking option other than Kei

That’s a tough one. McInerney is a safe option, because you’ll know if he’s playing or not. Obafemi, Arrieta, and Espindola are less safe, because you won’t have the advantage of knowing whether or not they’re starting on Saturday before the transfer deadline ends, but they’re all likely to get points. Just be careful with Kei — you’ll have to plan on benching or transferring him for the Crew’s bye next week.

Best of luck to everyone… unless you’re playing against me!
