CK TV: Jason Thompson talks before trade

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13bsrefyySE]On Wednesday afternoon we had a chance to connect with Jason Thompson from his youth basketball camp in Rocklin, California.  Little did we know that he would be traded hours later, ending the run of the franchise’s longest tenured player.

Throughout his seven seasons with the Kings, Thompson worked tirelessly in the community.  He personally paid for approximately 1000 campers to attend his camps during his time in Sacramento and even bussed them in from around the region.

Unlike many players in the league, Thompson plays an active role in his camps and not only teaches basketball basics, but focuses on nutrition and healthy eating as well.  All proceeds from his camps go to the Jason Thompson Foundation which gives back to the Sacramento community through the Salvation Army and Fathers for Families as well as donations to the American Heart Association.

While Thompson may have had an up and down career with the Sacramento Kings, his presence in the community and the locker room will be missed.
