When Peter Chiarelli said he wanted to keep as much of the Stanley Cup champion roster in tact he wasn’t jerking your leg (or anything else). He’s offered contract extensions to the Merlot Line and Chris Kelly.
After signing Boychuk to extension this week, BOS has made contract ext offers to Kelly, Thornton, Campbell and Paille, all UFAs July 1.

We’re obviously stoked at the idea of another contract for Mr. Shawn “Wayne” Thornton, third greatest NHL player of all time. We’re sure the folks running the International Coalition to Keep Chris Kelly as a Boston Bruin are stoked about a possible Kelly extension with Boston.
