When the Michigan State Spartans capped off their Big Ten Championship Game victory with a 22-play, over nine-minute drive, all they had to do was wait for the final edition of the College Football Playoff rankings to be released to see who their opponent would be in the national semifinal.
As it turned out, the Spartans were rewarded with the No. 3 seed, surpassing an idle Oklahoma Sooners team, creating a matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Cotton Bowl on December 31st at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
On TeamTix, Michigan State has the third highest price for reserving tickets to the National Championship game at $170. Clemson and Alabama are ahead at $274 and $180 respectively, with Oklahoma coming in fourth at $105.
TeamTix allows fans of each school to purchase the rights to tickets to the National Championship game if they were to advance. Once the non-refundable rights are purchased and the Spartans advance, tickets to the final game of the season will be available at face value.
Of course at this stage in the game, it’s not the most opportunistic time to buy as lower prices could’ve been had when the Spartans did not have a 50% chance of reaching the National Championship game, but that time has passed.
As of now, 400 Level seats can be reserved from $99 to $600 with bids be available to be placed in between those values. For 100 Level Corner and End Zone seats the TeamTix value is anywhere from $164 to $975 and again, bids are available to be place in between. These prices do not include the face value ticket price if Michigan State were to advance. As of this writing, the 400 Level seats have 48 offers and the 100 Level seats have 27 offers made. One person is allowed up to six TeamTix per team.
There is still some value to be had for Michigan State’s TeamTix as the Spartans are more than a touchdown underdog in Las Vegas. The eight to 10-point spread being circulated is the larger of the two games, as Clemson is only a three-point underdog to Oklahoma.
