After listening to half of this and rereading the lyrics twice, I still have no idea what this song is about. Elton had his hits, no question, but he also had a truckload of songs like this one — And this is where we can cross the bridge to the New York Islanders.
At this point, someone will probably get this far in their reading and think we are trying to imply the Islanders are actually girls or something. With the direction society is going, somewhere in the future kids who put buckets on their heads will be accused of appropriating the robot culture. The association here is that, much like EJ, the Islanders have some good that deserves the utmost praise and recognition — John Tavares easily comes to mind — but their collection (roster) is mostly garbage.
*- Almost made the mistake of adding Kyle Okposo to their list of good players; apparently he plays for Buffalo now. Not exactly sure where I was this entire offseason.
GAME SCRIPT
The Pens skate around for two periods, the Isles head to the third up by two, the Pens storm back in the third and win by one. They did this shit last year, they’re doing it again this year. Do yourself a favor and watch anything else until about 8:30 or so, then switch over to ROOT and enjoy a very entertaining period of hockey. It works!
