Mike Mussina spent 18 years in the Majors and as of Tuesday night, has a new job.
As a high school basketball coach.
That's right, the former pitcher, who put up Hall of Fame-caliber numbers is now the head basketball coach for his alma mater…Montoursville High School in Montoursville, Pennsylvania. He'll be the school's third head coach in the last five years.
According to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, the 44-year-old, who made more then $140 million during his big league career, will make a tidy $4170 in his new gig.
Mussina was a three-sport star at Montoursville High School and finished his high school basketball career with 1382 points. During his Major League career, he compiled a record of 270-153 with a 3.68 ERA. Since he retired following the 2008 season, he has coached both Little League Baseball and junior varsity basketball.
