If you take a look at the Kansas City Royals website, it lists Chris Getz’s walk up music as “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind and Fire. A pretty solid choice if you ask me.
But if you go to a Royals game…well, you’re greeted with different music when the second baseman saunters up to the dish.
That’s right, kids…yes, that is the theme music from Nintendo’s classic RBI Baseball.
Is it as intimidating as teammate Elliot Johnson’s choice of “Killing in the Name of” by Rage Against the Machine? No. Is it as much of a classic rock staple as Alex Gordon’s choice of “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent? Absolutely not.
But it’s a heckuva lot more fun.
