BOS 7, NYY 0: Beckett, Ortiz lead charge past Yankees

Josh Beckett pitched six scoreless innings and David Ortiz extended his hitting streak to seven games to stay undefeated against the New York Yankees this season.
Beckett allowed just one hit – an infield single to Robinson Cano in the fourth inning – and punched out eighth Yankees. Ortiz launched a two-run homer to center field in the second inning to give Boston all the runs they needed.
Then, the Red Sox padded the lead.
J.D. Drew had a two-RBI double in the second and Nick Green drove home two runs on an RBI double and solo homer.
Mike Lowell also had an RBI single in the fourth inning.

Star of the Game – Beckett

Beckett flat out dominated against the Yankees retiring the last six batters he faced in the win.
Next Game – 6/10 vs. New York Yankees – Chien-Ming Wang/Tim Wakefield
Boston looks to push their record to 7-0 against New York with a winless Chien-Ming Wang (0-3) on the mound.
