Starting tomorrow at 10 AM, Kids from 10 to 18 will be able to get some run against other kids their own age at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic center.
Converse is putting it all together. Here's the info they sent me:
Converse Open Gym is a program held in select cities around the country that gives kids, regardless of skill level, the chance to play basketball in a safe and organized environment. Boston Open Gym takes place every month.
More than 400 kids, ages 10-18 are expected to participate in the Boston Open Gym program on Saturday, where they will compete in pick-up basketball games and receive Converse gear. There is no need to register before hand.
Participants will have an opportunity to win shoes and enjoy other Open Gym activities including a photo booth, DJ, product-trial station and the Converse Open Gym barber shop, where a local barber will be providing free hair-cuts throughout the day.
WHEN: Saturday, September 18
10 AM – 6 PM
Session 1: 10-13 years old
Session 2: 13-15 years old
Session 3: 14-17 years old
Session 4: 15-18 years old
Yes, it's a big Converse marketing thing. But it's also free run for your kid against other kids their age. Where else are you gonna be able to bring a 12 year old for some pick up run? It's a good thing and it'll probably be fun for the kids involved.
