Too Much Heat in Miami; Hornets Drop 5th Straight

If you take the game as a whole, it was one of the better games the Hornets have played this season.  A solid effort was put forth by every player on the team, and we just came up short at the end.   5 players in double figures is a good thing, but not when you still lose.  Al Jefferson had 22 points and 12 rebounds, Lance Stephenson had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (he was in foul trouble the whole game), Kemba Walker had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, Gary Neal had 13 points and 2 rebounds, & Cody Zeller had 11 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.

How did we lose?  Well, we allowed 50% field goal shooting.  We also allowed 11 3-pointers (11-23).  We were out-rebounded and out-assisted again.  It wasn’t by a bunch, but it was enough.

Truth of the matter is that if we had won more games and we were currently 6-8, though the loss would have stung a little, it wouldn’t have been that big of an issue.  The problem is that it was the 5th loss in a row, body language of the team is not good, and they are reeling, desperately in need of some rest and practice.  Hard to fix issues when there’s no time to just look at films and work through it.  The schedule doesn’t get any nicer either.  We have the Los Angeles Clippers next.  I’m hoping to hear that PJ Hairston and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be available for the next game, but my hopes aren’t very high.  10 more games and we’ll have Jeffery Taylor back.  In the meantime, we push on to December and we do our best.  Keep your heads up Hornets fans.  We’ll get there.

Let’s Go Hornets!
