WATCH: Vivek Ranadivé interviewed for Malcolm Gladwell piece on 60 Minutes

If you’re not familiar with his work, Malcolm Gladwell is a best-selling author and staff writer for the New Yorker who covers a variety of topics, specializing mainly in social sciences.  He has a new book out titled “David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants”.  In one of the chapters in the book, he chronicles the story of how Vivek Ranadivé overcame the odds to coach his daughter’s youth basketball team to the state championships.

Gladwell, who is promoting the book, was highlighted in a feature by Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes last night.  The Sacramento Kings owner was interviewed for the weekly TV newsmagazine show about his story that Gladwell covered.

“It didn’t really matter that my girls couldn’t shoot as well,” Ranadivé told Cooper. “If I could get the ball under the basket and if I could win the turnover battle, then I could win the game.”

You can watch the entire piece in the video embedded below.  The portion of the video featuring the Kings chairman start right around the 2:22 mark.
