Will the Bears Use Schwartz’s Scheme?

Jim Schwartz’s defense held the potent Colts offense to only 14 and 17 points in the two Titans-Colts games last fall. Playing cover-2 almost all the time, Schwartz kept his safeties deep to prevent the deep ball. Only once did a safety get burned by biting on a fake and coming up.
The Bears are also a predominately cover-2 defense and they had to take note of the Titans’ success as they reviewed Colts film. Will Bears coach Lovie Smith and defensive coordinator Ron Rivera take a few pages from Jim Schwartz’s playbook?
Will Indianapolis head coach Tony Dungy and offensive coordinator Tom Moore counter by attacking the middle of the field with TE Dallas Clark and slot receiver Brandon Stokley?
For a look at the game from the two points of view, check out MVN’s Colts site and Bears site. There’s a live blog going on all day today at Outsider Radio, covering everyting from the pregame, game, halftime, commercials, and who knows what else.
I’m looking forward to all of it.
