NFC West Odds, Standings, and Predictions

The NFC West is the best division in the NFC with three potential playoff teams heading into Week 1.

The Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions and still have an excellent team.

San Francisco is a good all-around team but Trey Lance is a huge question mark looming over the 49ers season.

On the other hand, Arizona is in a bit of flux with a solid roster. The Cardinals will be even better on offense when DeAndre Hopkins returns from suspension.

Meanwhile, Seattle is in rebuilding mode and is clearly worst team in the NFC West on paper.

NFC West Odds

The NFC West has two possible teams that could challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl.

The top online sportsbooks have the Rams with the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1600 while the 49ers are ninth with +2000 odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Los Angeles opens the regular season as a slight favorite to win the division at +125.

With Lance under center, San Francisco is a close second with a +150 odd to win the division.

Arizona is third with a +450 odd to win the division crown while the Seahawks are at a distant fourth with +1200 odds to win the NFC West.

Below, we’ll break down the NFC West odds for each team in the division.

Los Angeles Rams (+125)

The best NFL betting sites have the Los Angeles Rams as small favorites to win the NFC West at +125 odds.

Los Angeles has the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1600 odds.

Cooper Kupp won the triple crown last season, leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.

The defense lost Von Miller but acquired Bobby Wagner, giving them Rams another playmaker on defense. Meanwhile, Aaron Donald remains the best defensive player in the league.

Los Angeles has the best all-around team in the division and should be considered the favorite to win the NFC West.

San Francisco 49ers (+150)

The 49ers are second with +150 odds to win the NFC West.

San Francisco almost defeated the Rams last season in the NFC Championship game and if it wasn’t for a dropped interception, they would have.

The 49ers made a QB change, starting Trey Lance. Jimmy Garoppolo remains on the team as Lance’s backup.

This could cause some rift in the locker room if Lance struggles and players want Jimmy G as the starter again. Lance will need to play well in order to get the confidence and support of his teammates.

The 49ers have a very good all-around team and can easily challenge and win the NFC West if Lance can play well.

Arizona Cardinals (+450)

The Arizona Cardinals had an interesting offseason with the new contract of Kyler Murray.

In the contract, it states Murray needs to study film for at least four hours per week on “independent study”.

This seems unprecedented that a team needs to specifically state this in a contract for a QB.

DeAndre Hopkins was suspended for six games for violating the PED policy in the offseason.

Arizona has a +450 odds to win the NFC West and should be considered a somewhat distant third after the Rams and 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks (+1200)

At a distant fourth to win the division is the Seattle Seahawks.

Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos and Seattle enters a rebuilding mode phase.

Geno Smith is the starting QB for Seattle.

The defense is shaky at best as well for the Seahawks.

In a division featuring the Rams and 49ers, Seattle does not stand much of a chance to win the NFC West.

Breaking Down The NFC West Race

The Rams, 49ers, and Cardinals could all represent the NFC West in the NFL Playoffs in 2022.

While the NFC West is the best division in the NFC, the oddsmakers believe it will be a two-team race between the Rams and 49ers.

The Rams are the favorites at +125 to win the division, followed by the 49ers at +150 and then the Cardinals at +450. Seattle is a +1200 to win the NFC West.

While it is difficult to bet against Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, the 49ers have the talent to win the division.

It will depend on how Trey Lance performs.

Los Angeles Rams Season Preview

  • Super Bowl Odds: +1600
  • NFC West Odds: +125
  • Projected Win Total: 10 wins

The Rams enter the season as defending Super Bowl champions.

Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay are one of the best QB/Head Coach duos in the NFL. With a good QB and coach, it is always a recipe for success.

Von Miller is no longer with the team but the Rams brought in Bobby Wagner.

Odell Beckham Jr is not with the team but Allen Robinson was brought in.

PFF ranks the Rams’ defensive line as the best in the league, mostly in large part due to Aaron Donald. Donald remains the best defensive player in the NFL.

Last season, the Rams were ninth in points allowed per game and fifth in rushing yards allowed per game.

Their offense was very good as well, ranking sixth in points per game and fifth in passing yards per game.

Matthew Stafford ranked third in passing yards and second in passing TDs last season.

While it may be difficult for Stafford and Kupp to duplicate what they did last season, they will still both have a very good season.

The Rams should be considered the favorites to win the NFC West.

San Francisco 49ers Season Preview

  • Super Bowl Odds: +2000
  • NFC West Odds: +150
  • Projected Win Total: 9.5 wins

Not only are the 49ers the most interesting team in the division but they are one of the more interesting teams in the league.

Trey Lance will be the new starting QB over Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy G has taken the 49ers to a Super Bowl and NFC Championship game over the last three years.

It will be difficult for players to buy into Lance, given the success they have had with Garoppolo under center.

Lance can not ask for a better head coach than Kyle Shannahan. Shannahan is a QB guru that can make the average QB look very good. Z

Last season, the 49ers’ defense ranked fifth in points allowed per game, sixth in rushing yards allowed per game. and seventh in passing yards allowed per game. The defense will once again be formidable. PFF ranks the 49ers’ defensive line as sixth-best in the league.

Trey Lance will be the wild card and the 49ers will go as far as he can take them. If Lance can play well, the sky is the limit for the 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals Season Preview

  • Super Bowl Odds: +5000
  • NFC West Odds: +450
  • Projected Win Total: 7.5 wins

Arizona seemed like they were going to win the NFC West and be Super Bowl contenders in the first half of the season last year.

However, they collapsed in the second half and were eliminated in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

They had a very strange off-season. DeAndre Hopkins has been suspended for six games for violating the league’s PED policy.

Kyler Murray signed a massive contract in the off-season. In the contract, it states Murray needs to study film for at least four hours per week on “independent study”. This is a bizarre clause for a team to put in a contract, especially for a QB.

PFF ranks Arizona’s secondary as 27th best in the league. This will be a major concern for the team this season.

The Cardinals are not nearly as talented as the Rams or 49ers and should be considered a distant third favorite to win the NFC West.

Seattle Seahawks Season Preview

  • Super Bowl Odds: +12500
  • NFC West Odds: +1200
  • Projected Win Total: 6.5 wins

The Seattle Seahawks are in a rebuilding phase.

Russell Wilson is no longer on the team after they traded him to the Denver Broncos.

Geno Smith will be the starting QB for the Seahawks. He has weapons in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett but Smith has never proven he can be a decent starting QB.

Seattle ranked 31st in passing yards allowed per game and 17th in rushing yards allowed per game last season.

PFF ranks the Seahawks’ secondary as third worst in the league. They also rank their defensive line as fourth worst in the league. This will be a struggle on defense for the Seahawks.

Seattle is a distant fourth to win the division, as they should be. They are nowhere near as good as the Rams, 49ers, or even the Cardinals.
