Vaya Con Dios, 2015 College Football Season

areyeah

With yet another Alabama national championship complete and the championship trophy coming soon to Walmarts across Alabama for glamorous photo shoots, the college football season has come to a close. It was your standard season in which the eventual national champion slid into its conference championship game (and likely the playoff) by way of a fourth-and-25 lateral to no one that ended up in the hands of the one player (among 10 standing around) who had the speed and ability to run for a first down. So, yes, what I’m saying is that it was a pretty boring season.

On a personal note, it was four months filled with being courteous enough to allow Alabama to give away a game in Bryant-Denny, a loss to Memphis that nearly sent me on a walk into the woods to never return, and a Sugar Bowl trip that was a pretty nice reward for enduring emotions that are as far apart as the east is from the west. But now it is time to move on, recharge the emotional and physical batteries, and engage with the rest of society (UGH).

We say goodbye to this college football season the only way we know how around here. With the images of Point Break and the sounds of Guns N’ Roses*.

*I cannot WAIT to spend an absurd amount of money on reunion tour tickets and then read that the tour is cancelled after the third show. NEVER CHANGE, AXL.

Vaya con Dios, friend. Though we must first cross the barren wasteland of January-to-August, we shall meet again.
